i'm not a particularly experienced player, but i really appreciated the new
scoring system when i read it.spirit is something which is discussed a lot but
never really explained in too much detail. i've had games where i thought the
other team where badly spirited only to be disagreed with by others on my
team.at the very least reading the new system notes gave me a more firm basis
for my own judgement of these things (whether i then followed the system to the
letter or not) as well as making me question whether i could be said to be
well-spirited by that particular standard.so i'd say the BULA system is
excellent for beginners, even if it's only used to point out areas of
good-spirited play and not followed to the letter
