Hi,

This email will come across slightly selfish but I'm sure that there are
others who are equally affected by these decisions.

School teachers / Lectures and others working in the education sector +
students (at college or school) are going to struggle to attend the next few
major European and World Club events and I really can't workout why the
normal dates in August aren't being used.

2006 - WUCC held in November (This was fine...it was in Australia, they have
different seasons, I understand this decision)
2007 - EUCF - Basel in October (Teachers unlikely to get Friday off work
missing over 1/3 of the tournament)
2008 - EUCF - Paris in November (Some Teachers unlikely to get Friday off
work but for some it may well be half term because date is so late)
2009 - EUCC - Undecided at moment but bids asked for early part of July -
(Not going to be going to that then)
2010 - WUCC - Prague July 3rd to 10th - (Not going to be going to that then)

Ok...yes teachers do get a lot of holiday but the fact is we can't move it.
Obviously students could try and ask for it off but it's not ideal.

Can someone in the powers that be please explain the reasoning behind this
decision? I obviously understand that there maybe other issues that I have
overlooked...so please enlighten me!!

More grumpy than normal

Lewis
