The battle is over and we, for now, have won.

Over the past three days over 600 people lynched the monster that is
the Copa Cabana and brought it slowly to it's knees. I was in fact the
first casualty of the weekend. Over the past eight years the Copa has
become bigger than just a tournament. For its organisation it's a
battle between a crowd challenging us with the extension and
realisation of their collective tournament dreams, shaped by our
vision to create, and struggling against those who would tell us what
we cannot do. We all step out of our respective environments for
three days and nights and with an unrelenting will we push our ability
to celebrate the social and physical challenges of the sport we love
at the tournament that never sleeps.

I'd first like to thank Dene Sheppard who does a good amount if not
more than I do towards making this event a success. In addition there
is our team Flyght Club who step up to the challenge each year.

Congrats goes to
1. Bigger Than You for winning the Ultimate portion of the event.
 - They won a limited edition film cell from the Hammer Horror
production 'Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter' and a box set (21 DVDS) of
Hammer Horror films.
2. The MOB for taking the Plate
3. Gummi Bears for winning the Spoon
4. Disco Biscuits who won Spirit
5. Cookie Monster (Sicko) for winning the Best Dressed award
6. The girl who stayed awake for 48 hours for winning MVP (most
valuable party-goer). Her name escapes me unfortunately.
7. All the participants who made the rubbish clean up job much better
this year. Please respect all tournaments the way you did ours.

To those who asked, the band was called Kingsize. Look them up on google.

The Saturday night party this year was best summarised by
"Battle not with monsters lest you become one."
 - Friedrich Nietzsche

The monster will rise again next year. I hope you'll all be there to
do battle with it again.

Steve - Copa TD
