This is a message for Ultimate players who are of a masters age (which is a minimum 32 years of age by the end of 2009) and interested in playing a bit of ultimate with like aged people - please read on if this applies to you, MOB NEEDS YOU!
This winter we are keen to see if we can add to the MOB masters team that started in the MWL about this time last year. A team of masters players turned up to each of the Midland Winter League events and finished 2nd overall sandwiched between the two EMO teams. Loosely based in the midlands but with players from all over from London to Liverpool we had a great time making the youngsters at MWL sweat and wonder how they could possible loose to such old cronies. The team also competed at Copa in the summer. Our ultimate aim is to build a "proper" competitive master team to enter into the European and World Clubs competitions. So what next! Well if you are vaguely interested then please get in contact and maybe turn up to one of the MWL events to get a feel for what masters ultimate is like - I think you might be pleasantly surprised (I was)! The first MWL is this Sunday and you would be more than welcome! These are great little events that don't require any long term commitment and are a very useful training ground, call them taster sessions if you like!
