This year we had three bids to host the national junior indoors. After the
success of last year with 24 teams competing indoors and 27 teams at the
junior outdoors, it really looked like we would have to move to regional
qualifiers this year. Two of the bids were to hold regional qualifiers (one
in Manchester, the other in Plymouth) but the successful bid from
Wolverhampton has 3, possible 4 halls available meaning that for this year
at least, we can continue to have a single tournament for the national
junior indoors. The date for the tournament will be February 28th and March
1st.

Additionally, the U17s national indoor championships have also been awarded
to Wolverhampton and will be held on the weekend of March 21st/22nd. Anyone
that played in the open qualifiers in November will know what excellent
facilities there are at this incredibly central location. I'm sure Vaughnie
will be announcing more details on the junior ultimate email group for both
tournaments very shortly. If anyone on Britdisc is not on that group and
wants to be kept informed of junior tournaments and developments, then email
me or visit the junior's pages on the UKU web site for sign up details.

So, many thanks to Scraggy and Chef for the hard work they put into their
bids, and also to everyone on the junior forum who decided which bid would
be successful. Good luck to Vaughnie and Arctic in running the tournaments.

Kevin (On behalf of the Junior forum)
