Just wanted to let people know the plans for the outdoor season in Glasgow this year. We are welcoming players from all over Scotland to get involved and come train and play with us in the upcoming mixed, mens and womens season. We will be hosting a skills day/frisbee fun day on Feb 8th at Victoria Park in Glasgow, please come along if you want to know more about what we're doing this season, want to improve your game or just want to play some decent games of 7v7. This invitatation is open to absolutely everyone. More information to follow shortly.
We are planning on sending teams to compete at all of these events: Mens - Fusion West Fusion West is the Glasgow based half of Fusion. Last year we recruited players from several Scottish cities and competed in the A tour. At the end of the season Fusion East and West combined to send a squad to the european championships in Paris. The format will be similar this year, we will be training as a squad with practices split between Glasgow and Edinburgh and possibly other university cities. The Fusion West trial will be held on Sunday Feb 15th at Victoria park Glasgow, everyone is welcome and encouraged to come along. If you wish to try out or require more info about trials please get in touch with Phil Webb: [email protected]. Other contact: Conor Docherty (Fusion West captain) [email protected] eGroup: [email protected] (If you are serious about playing please join this group as we will be starting pre season fitness sessions soon and appointing club positions). Womens - Open to women from all over Scotland and of all abilities. Aim is to improve fitness and skill level as a team and get at least one team to each tour event. Training based in Glasgow but with every alternative full team training session in a different city (depends where team members are based). Training and Fitness will begin soon so if you are interested you can contact either Kirsty Thompson ([email protected]) or Sarah Breen ([email protected]). See you all at the skill session. Mixed - There will still be training sessions in Glasgow when the mens and womens teams are not training. These practices will be for everyone, boy, girl, novice, expert, out of towners etc and not limited to the mens and womens squad. The idea is to get a large pool of players, learn from each other, play high quality games and create a good social scene between university and club teams. The ultimate goal will be to send a team to the mixed tour. Contact: Shaun Webb [email protected]. In summary Join the frisbee revolution in Glasgow, 8th Feb Victoria Park. Please forward this on to your own club or anyone you think would be interested. See you all soon.
