Dear all,

Still trying to bring discs to Africa, I got in touch with Ben there who is
doing a lot in Uganda, especially with street kids and an NGO called
Dwelling Places (see bellow). He could use some more discs of course and we
are therefore looking for someone travelling to Uganda soon (anyone you
know) - from London or Paris - who would be willing to take some frisbees
with him/her, meet Ben, and give him the goods!

Let me know if you know someone who can help,
Cheers,
Rodrigue

Hi Rodrigue,

Happy New Year to you too. Disks for Africa sounds like a great initiative
and yes we could certainly use some.

Ultimate has been played for a while on an adhock basis in Uganda by a
few people, but mid last year we formed a committee to try and promote the
game in a more structured manner. We are targeting schools, unis and
community organisations. We recently teamed up with Dwelling Places, a home
for Ugandan orphans and street kids with over 100 kids. We introduced the
game there to try and improve their qualtiy of life. In November we had a
tournament with 5 teams including a demo game with the DP children.

We would love to have some discs, birps and cones that we can give to DP and
other organisations that we plan to approach this year. We also have a
budget for our activities so monetary contributions are also welcome.

Warm regards,
Ben
