Hi all,
Finally got our photos from the Sunday of Rylands up, sorry for the
delay. As per normal there is a highlights folder if you're in a rush:

It's been mentioned already, but I agree that the best thing to come out
of the weekend was the method of speeding up play and keeping people
onside at the start of a point. I highly recommend that we adopt the
same pull rules used at the weekend to our own game, I think this is
only the second time (ever!) I've managed to get a photo of an entire
team onside during a pull, and you can see why:

There was a lot of dirty fouling, particularly as someone caught the
disc and before they were told to back off by the refs:

There were people forgetting about actually playing the game and instead
just appealing to the refs:

And instead of discussion between players there was a lot of discussion
(aka arguments) with the refs. They should have been a lot more harsh
with their response to arguments from players, but I think this would
come with more experience refereeing:

There was even the most spirited player in the country trying to deck
some poor chap from Ireland:

Overall I thought it was an interesting experiment, if it were to be
tried again I've got a few ideas of improvements to the fouling rules
(too harsh in some areas, not harsh enough in others, add a sin-binning
option, only the captain can discuss decisions with refs etc), but I
don't think we'll see this type of tournament again in a hurry.
Well done to the refs, you guys had to put up with a lot of c...@p from
players who were a lot more experienced than you. I did see some bad
decisions (although I thought the sending off was a good one), but in
general you guys dealt with that a lot more professionally than the players.
Cheers,
Dave
