Hi BritDisc,

I'd like to announce a new major feature for FFINDR on which I was working
for the last few months: a generic online registration for Frisbee
tournaments!

I warmly invite you to take advantage of this new feature that will surely
make your life as a tournament organiser a lot easier. Two events
successfully trialled the new registration: the Scottish MacBeach and the
Paris Summerlove, now it is also available for you!

How does it work? Fairly simple. The tourney needs to be listed on FFINDR
and you have to be its "owner" (i.e. either you published the event by
yourself so you are automatically its owner or you ask me to transfer the
ownership to your account in case somebody else published it). You'll then
see a link "Create online registration" on the tournament's page. Just
click and the rest should be rather self-explanatory. The configuration of
a fully customisable online registration form will take you less then 5
minutes (you can ask whatever question, provide whatever answers... fully
up to you).

The tournament page will accept bids (by teams or individual players for a
HAT, whatever you want) during the specified time frame and add them to the
publicly available list of received bids. For each bid a customisable
confirmation e-mail will be sent out to the bidder and the organiser. In
addition, the organiser will have access to an Excel file that contains all
bids including all the data.

Once the registration is closed, the organiser can pick the bids and
trigger the mailing of invitations and refusals (i.e. a spot on the waiting
list). That's all. A job that formerly took up to several hours can now be
done in 15 minutes. Sounds exaggerated? Definitely, I just finished the
registration for the Paris Summer League with 140+ bids in a few minutes,
last year back-and-forth mailing and copy&paste into excel sheets took me
several hours.

See you on http://united-kingdom.ffindr.com -- feedback is highly
appreciated!

Have a nice day,
Christian

P.S. By the way, FFINDR is not only free of charge but also free of
advertising!
