Calling all London-based players…

ABH is announcing a series of Mixed practices that are open to intermediate
and advanced players who are looking for fun, competitive ultimate. Not a
newcomer to the scene, we’ve been around for 5 years and are based in
Central London - practicing in Hyde Park every weekend.

*Our main goal?* ABH is looking to continue to challenge for a position in
the top 16 of the Mixed Table, plus put in a strong showing in the spirit
scores. One secret weapon? Our co-captain’s secret brownie recipes...
currently, one stellar layout D = one brownie*

*Philosophy?* We’re all about balance. Once a week, we play hard and
practice hard. The rest of the time, there’ll be optional fitness workouts
and other practices (including midweek astroturf fun!), but we realize that
we all have a number of commitments to juggle so these aren’t mandatory.

On the social side, we also figure that the fun folks we play with are
pretty cool to hang out with as well – so do a number of social things
throughout the year… from the normal pub meetups to the slight random
country hikes, CD mix swaps, and a bunch more besides.

*When:* ABH Mixed trainings will take place with a warmup/throwaround at
12:00, and practice to follow at 12:30pm on Sundays on the south side of
Hyde Park, starting 18 October. If you still have legs, we’ll follow that
with some high-level pick-up at 2:00, and some carbo-replenishment with a
few beers at the pub.

If you’re interested in playing with us, we’d really like you to come on
out. If you have any questions, please email Mara Alperin (snowy_owl203 (at)
yahoo.com) or Mike Hawkins (hawkinsmike (at) gmail.com).

For a bit more information (including a map of where we play), please take a
look at our website (http://www.abhultimate.org).

Cheers,
ABH Mixed

PS. Maybe... we still need to get Mara to say yes. And note, these aren't
'special' brownies in that Amsterdam-sense of things, just really, really
good.
