Hi Britdisc, I wanted to ask the question as to whether the list currently updated on the MT2 website http://www.mixedtour2.co.uk/#/teams/4539266610 is the seedings for Mixed Tour 2?
I want to question the appropriate committee as to the placing of Gronical Dizziness if this is indeed the final seedings. At XEUCF Gronical placed 3rd in the Mixed Division (being beaten by only 1 UK Mixed Team, Brighton). If they are indeed seeded at 17, I feel this is a problem for 2 reasons. Firstly, if the schedule is similar to that of MT1, only one team from Gronical's group would be able to progress to the top 16 bracket. If Gronical are anywhere near as strong as the Euros team last year, this would be simple for them, and the other teams in their group are unfairly punished by having a team being seeded lower than appropriate. Secondly, Gronical, on coming over to the UK for this tournament would not be able to come higher than 13th, which (again, if they bring as strong team as in Euros) would provide them which no real competition and a finishing position which is lower than they would believe they could achieve. I'm sure that if this is final seedings then the committee would have their reasons for doing so. I do hope, however, that it is not to just appease teams in the top 16, as the wildcards rules do state that wildcards will be placed at a place that is reflective of their quality to keep competition. Of course, there may be other reasons why this would have been made, for example, the committee have evidence to show that 17th is a reasonable seeding for this team. It may also be that I have assumed this is the final seedings, when it is not! I just want this clarified, and make the relevant people aware of this early enough to be changed if it needs to be.
