One of the benefits of Ultimate being a recognised sport is that Ultimate
clubs (at least some of them) are able to apply to become a CASC (Community
Amateur Sports Club). In reality the benefits used to be pretty limited for
most Ultimate clubs because the really major feature of the scheme was only
relevant to sports clubs with premises.

Well, NOT ANY MORE!

A new scheme from JustGiving, Sport England and CCPR means JustGiving will
handle the gift aid aspect for CASCs. And they've even waived their annual
subscription fee - i.e. the service is free. (Apparently it was always
possible to claim gift aid back, but the paperwork was very onerous, and so
that feature has never been very visible.)

Since it was never looked that useful to our clubs, I've never looked in
detail at the CASC requirements, and I suspect not all clubs will be
eligible - but some will, and the gift aid feature perhaps makes it
worthwhile. I'd recommend most clubs take a look at this.

If anyone looks into it and has any success (or if anyone has already done
so) please let me know so that we can share information with everyone. If
there are obstacles that require help from the National Governing Body (i.e.
UKU) please let me know and we'll work to get them sorted of course.

Best wishes

Si
