Dear Britdisc,
On the weekend of 9th/10th October Newcastle University hopes and dreams of
hosting an indoor warm up tournament. Think of it as the motivational first
clip in your training montage for indoor regionals on October 30th/31st. This
tournament would mainly be aimed at experienced players but beginners are of
course welcome welcome and encouraged to give them a taste of competitive fun
ultimate. The tournament would offer a chance to dust off the throws from the
summer and an almost gentle re-introduction into the fast paced nature of
indoors. As well as the daytime ultimate we hope to show you why Newcastle has
been voted the best student city for many years through an epic party on the
Saturday night!
Recently Leeds has announced a delightful sounding and similar tournament on
the weekend of 16th/17th October combining both beginners and experienced
divisions. To avoid any problems I would like to ask all captains/td’s of
clubs if they would be interested in entering a team(s) for the Newcastle
tournament if it was held on the 9th/10th October? The tournament will
accommodate 16-18 teams and cost around £90 per team with discount for multiple
team entries.
Please note the club doesn’t mean to do any thunder thieving from Leeds and we
hope that both events can run with great success.
So if any team would be interested in entering a team for the tournament please
reply asap and I will open up registration next week if interest is high enough
to make the tournament viable to run.
