Junior Outdoor Nationals took place at the start of July in Birmingham, with
teams travelling from as far as North Yorkshire, Devon, Portsmouth - and the
Republic of Ireland! The players ranged from aged 10 to 19, and for many people
it was their first big outdoor tournament. After open pool format on the first
day, there were some exciting games and close encounters on the second day at
all levels of the tournament. Arctic Ultimate (Sutton Coldfield) narrowly
triumphed in a hard fought semi against Flux (Twycross), while in the other
semi
last year's runners-up Air Badgers (Exeter) had a more straightforward win
against Manor (York). Having already won the Under 17 and Under 20 Indoor
titles
this year, Badgers confirmed their dominance of the UK Junior Ultimate scene
making it look very easy in the final with a comprehensive victory over Arctic.
Spirit of the Game went to Brighton, again! Best of luck to all the Juniors
going to World Junior and European Under 17 Championships in Germany in August!
