UK Ultimate is pleased to announce the following appointments for management of the GB Open, Mixed and Womens squads for the 2011-12 seasons. The appointments are effective immediately.
Women: Jenna Thompson, Sophie Watson, Gemma Taylor, Jools Murray Mixed: Iain Thackrah, Ali Smith, Mark Davin, Paul Waite Open: Marc Guilbert Congratulations and thanks in advance! We are also further developing our approach to the support of GB Ultimate to help all squads and players get the most out of training, medical support, help with funding, etc. This project is, in turn, part of a wider project to create a clear player development pathway for athletes that have the goal of being part of GB Ultimate. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank GB Ultimate sponsors, Lookfly, for their help and support. TRIALS: GB trials will be held on following dates: 9-10 Oct: Open, Women, Mixed 30-31 Oct(*): Open, Women, Mixed 13-14 Nov(*): Women, Mixed (*) Date to be confirmed - but we are working hard to use these dates. We are still finalising the location and costs, but you can assume: - Location will be as central as we can make it and will as far as possible mean all three trials are close together or hopefully at a single venue. - The cost per player is likely to be in the range of £30-£50 per session, depending on the location and what is provided (e.g. food), the numbers of people that attend, etc with some concession for students/unemployed if possible, and probably some sort of further reduction for anyone attending all three trial dates. We will be publishing invitations to sessions for each of the three squads shortly. The invitations all contain an application form, and instructions on where to send the form. Players are welcome to apply to more than one squad. It is the same application form for all three squads, but you need to send it to different email addresses depending on the squad. Please note that the three squads are running their trials in slightly different ways. There will also be news about Juniors 2011-12 and Masters 2011-12 to follow soon.
