Hi BD,

At the start of the project we weren't sure we could coordinate 3 venues on
one weekend but we did it and with some outstanding play at each venue. The
results from each venue are below and we wish to offer congratulation each
of the winning teams and the SOTG winners from each event. The Super 7s
National Finals planning is under way. The date & place along with the
qualifying teams will be released as soon as we can.

Super 7s Series – Devon

Final Standing (Ave. SOTG)

1. Pro Tour (12.67)
2. Fo’sho’ (16) – SOTG Winners
3. Limp Diskit (9)
4. PicNic (16)

After late dropouts the Devon region had only the hardiest four of teams
starting the tournament. With a last minute change of venue and schedule
rewrite the teams could be forgiven for starting the day on the down beat.
Not to be, the Devon teams proved to be warm hearted, unlike the weather,
respecting the effort that had been put in to find a replacement over the
days leading into the event.

Pro Tour were the run-a-way winners never being more than little challenged
by any team but putting on a good show for the side line in every match
while respecting the opposition. The highlight of the tournament was the
final pool game that proved to be the decider for the second seed in the
final. The superbly named Fo’sho’ vs Limp Diskit played out trading the
match all game long. In the end Fo’sho’ took the game with an up-winder
that left Limp Diskit needing to score 2 on the bounce after the half to
bring them into contention and force a sudden death. Unfortunately time was
not on their side and Fo’Sho’ put a disc in just in time to seal the win
before the horn.

Limp Diskit went into the three/four placing game as favourites to take the
third sport at the Super 7s National Finals. PicNic put a lot of pressure
on form the start showing they the inexperienced team had developed over the
tournament. Tired from the earlier loss Limp Diskit took their time to
score the points and seal their place in the Super 7s National Finals.

The final could have been a formality however; Fo’sho’ came out fired up
after the tough final pool game and took the match to Pro Tour. In the end
Pro Tour stepped up a gear to bring out a safe lead but Fo’sho’ kept up the
tenacity and was rewarded with some points late in the match.

Super 7s - Sheffield
1. Buck's Fizz
2. York 1
3. BASS
4. Plastic Explosive
5. York 2
6. Hulltimate
7. Bradford
8. Welbeck College

Despite a couple of close-ish pool games, Buck's Fizz dominated the final,
beating York 12-2. BASS beat Plastic 6-5 in sudden death, having lost to
them by one point in their pool game.

With the bottom four, rather than repeating matches, we took their pool
result from the morning and added it into a round robin format in the
afternoon. York 2, Hull and Bradford all finished on two wins, so it came
down to points difference. Welbeck, in their first ever tournament, came
with the desire to score at least a point in each game. Whilst they lost
15-0 to Buck's Fizz, they then went on to score two in each of their other
games, so were pretty chuffed.

Spirit votes on the day were tied 3-3 between Bradford and Welbeck (though
the latter had to leave before the presentation so didn't receive a prize
unfortunately). I haven't yet had time to go through the WFDF spirit
scores, but will publish them at some point this week.

Super 7s - London

1.Mohawks. (13

2. Oh Ah Cantona. (13)

3.Black Mamba (15)

4. Stoobs(13.8)

5. Milky Bar Kids (14.25)

6. Choke Hazard. (14.8)

7. Cutty Sharks (14.2)

Thanks again to all the teams for bringing some fine Ultimate and good
spirit.
