BD,

I'd appreciate some feedback on the Mixed Nats schedule. Clearly there were a lot of games, but this was close to inevitable - the other options were to limit (to 16 or 8) the number of teams who could win, or to give no chance to recover after pool play (and no chance to move up significantly from the lower seedings).

The total amount of game time was slightly less than a standard Open Tour format, but slightly more than is normal at Mixed Tour. I'd appreciate people's thoughts on the best way forward in the future - we do worry about the effects of exhaustion. Everyone would be physically better off if we were to play 2*90mins per day (or equivalent in shorter games) to reduce the risk of injury through exhaustion. However, I'm absolutely convinced that something like that would create far more complaints than a gruelling schedule such as we had this weekend.

Anyway, any thoughts on the approach taken this weekend would be appreciated.

Also, apologies to any teams who had a bye. We did actually write a backup schedule for 40 teams, but since we were not aware of any dropouts until well after the tournament had started, we were unable to switch to that schedule. Perhaps all teams will bear in mind that things like this are the reason that schedules come out late, and that a no-show messes all the other teams around unnecessarily.

Cheers,
Benji
