Hello BD / UU, Announcing a level one coaching course in Newcastle on Saturday the 21st of May 2011.
Please see the event page for more details, click this link<http://www.ukultimate.com/2011/05/21/uku_level_1_coaching_course_newcastle> If you are interested in setting up an award in your area, please do get in touch. A special thanks goes to Too Many Pies and Jef Hogg for their input. Is the Level 1 Coaching Award for you? Whilst we would not wish to discourage anyone who is keen to learn the basics of coaching Ultimate, the following list will give you an indication of the background necessary to gain the most from the course: You should have: - been playing Ultimate regularly for at least 18 months - competed at several national-level outdoor tournaments - organised and run at least one team training session - experience of teaching beginners to throw backhands and sidearms - have a good practical understanding of the rules of the game. If all - or at least most - of the above applies to you, then the material in the Level 1 Coach award has been designed with you in mind! Becoming a recognised Level 1 UKUA Ultimate coach is both a rewarding and valuable experience. This course develops the information, techniques and strategies that you can then pass on, explain and justify, to team-mates and other players with confidence. The material covered will improve your understanding of both coaching and playing Ultimate. event: http://www.ukultimate.com/2011/05/21/uku_level_1_coaching_course_newcastle Sincerely, Liam Kelly mob. 07595 618 129 office. 0151 324 0929 twitter.
