Hi

I haven't read my emails yet this morning but am expecting to have even more
than usual on this particular Monday morning.

I would like to apologise for the decision to run B&C Tour at the venue in
Chiswick. This was essentially my decision and as I type this I can offer
no explanation as to why I thought it would be at the standard we all want
and expect. I'm not going to attempt to make a list of excuses.

I am aware that there were various problems throughout the weekend. I'm not
really sure there is much to be gained in me listing them all out, but I do
know that many of them can be traced back to the original bad decision - by
me - that we should go back there. Somehow I convinced myself that the
problems at the venue we experienced last time were largely due to the
number of teams, and that with almost half that number of teams this time
there would be a lot less strain on the facilities etc. But actually this
was an absurd case of convincing yourself something is true when it just
isn't.

I hope that if you were there, the fact you spent a (mostly) sunny weekend
playing ultimate with and against your friends meant that you had a good
time anyway.

We will not be running an event at that venue again. We will look at what
systematic failures left us in a position where nobody else spotted that I
was in the middle of getting something wrong.

In the meantime, lets hope it keeps raining for a few days, so that at least
the ground gets a bit softer!

Best wishes

Si
