SPIRIT MEDALS: The spirit medals experiment seemed to go down fairly well. 8 Teams returned them to me rather than award them – one of those returned was because “This was the most spirited tournament I have ever played at, but nobody seemed to stand out.” Some teams were really witty, and nominated somebody ironically. I am personally quite embarrassed about this, as they are essentially getting me to deliver their bitchy comment without my knowing. I feel that this is a joke at my expense. For this reason, I am not going to publish the list of people who received a medal, as I assume that these pranksters just wrote the name down without actually having the balls the present the medal to their intended target. The people who received genuine awards know who they are (congratulations), and I know at least some of the people who made ironic awards. If it happens again, they will be named and hopefully shamed. THANK YOU! Even though this was the biggest event we have ever held at this venue, there was proportionally less rubbish. Who says subliminal messages don’t work? RATHER ANNOYING! 8 Cones went missing. They are marked ‘Cardiff Tour’. THANKS AGAIN Once again we were lucky with the weather. Everybody was well behaved (as far as I know) and some people made some helpful suggestions.
