I'd like to thank Jaimie, Catherain, Chris from Catch the Spirit, and
everyone else who gave up their time this week to go and help out at the
event featured on the news clip.

Liam Kelly is and has been working really hard (and doing a great job -
thanks Liam!) on this for a few months now, and he's got us into a good
position within the project. The Youth Sport Trust and Matalan are really
ambitious about growing the project to a really significant size over the
next 2-3 years.

We expect/hope that during 2011-12 we will receive support to work with
secondary schools across 10 counties in England (we can't say which ones
yet). That is a lot of secondary schools. If next year is a success the
plan is that the following year will be bigger.

We are going to need more help (please)!

There will be other events and sessions where we will be hoping to bring in
some volunteers from the ultimate-community (as Liam has done a few times
already - thanks to those that have helped out so far).

Looking further ahead, we'd like more clubs to consider whether they can
extend what they do to offer opportunities for local school kids to join the
club - maybe even look at setting up dedicated youth sections? Last year we
released lots of guidance on Safeguarding (link below) maybe that will help.
And we'll be looking to clubs to tidy up their information on the UKU
website in terms of who they are, where they are based, etc, etc.

Thats it for now...
