Apologies for the sporadic tweeting, we're experiencing some technical
issues (i.e. it won't let me send any!)

For those who are interested:

Yesterday we played Holland in our first game. Despite a few blunders
from our O line (giving them the disc on our own goal line twice!), we
started to pull away in the second half as our D line went on a roll,
with us running out 17-12 winners. They had several strong receivers
who were able to pull the disc down over multiple GB defenders and
kept the game close, but the pressure was always there and our D
line's offence was very smooth, scoring 7 from 9 possessions.

Our second game of the day was against Ireland. We scored on O and D
to go 2-0 up, Ireland responded with 3 in a row. Teams basically
traded out the half with one more break each, leaving Ireland up 8-7
at half with the all important break in hand. Ireland then converted
their O point to take a 9-7 lead. GB responded with a 3 pass score on
offence before the floodgates opened and the GB D line went on a huge
roll, scoring 7 breaks in the second half including a layout Callahan
from Captain Matthew Beavan on the way to a 17-11 victory. Ireland
scored mostly off their strong deep game and patient swinging at the
back, and this was a very tough game for GB. If Ireland can work on
gritting their teeth in the second half to cope with an increased
level of pressure then we expect them to go far this tournament, and
they have a good chance of making power pools today if they can beat
Italy. We wish them the best of luck.

Today we face Belgium at 1pm, tomorrow we play Italy then (hopefully)
the power pools beckon.

I'll try to post updates on Twitter @GBOpen where I can, or I'll send
an email when that seems to break down!
