Greetings Chaps and Chapettes,
Almost 300 fine gentlefolk descended on Leicester on the bank holiday,
competing on and off the field to prove their valour and ‘swagger’.
The days saw hard fought games infused with a hearty measure of flair
and bravado. The nights saw delicious pies and slightly sketchy pasta,
live music and much cavorting. There were beer races, beer pong, yards
of beer and a great many other things involving beer*.
Thank you all for making this first event such a wonderful weekend for
all those involved, in particular thanks to those players who provided
unprompted but much appreciated assistance over the weekend; the
doctors who sat with our injured, the hungover players who still
helped dish out breakfast and of course the teams of people who helped
clean up at the end.
There’s a big pile of lost property, and we’re in the process of
