Thanks again to all those that came and for making it such a great weekend. The
ultimate was quality, the vibe was fun and the spirit was high. Spirit score
averaged 9.8 out of 16, so well above normal and we had 94% spirit returned :-)
Do hit me with any feedback if you have an opinion about the weekend. Big shout
outs to Luton Regional Sports Centre for hosting, Luke from St Albans/DED for
providing the scoreboard and schedule discussion, all the people who timed the
games whilst I was playing Ironman (shout out to Buzz), Mohawks for calculating
the MVP using a fantasy ultimate system (genius).

Spirit. Kate chased teams throughout both days for regular spirit results.
Many teams were providing this game by game which had several advantages. It
meant the game was fresh in the mind of teams when they were writing it. It
also meant that I could speak to any teams involved in a game with a
particularly low spirit score about what had happened and hopefully remedied
the issues as they went along.

First Aid. So, indoors is dangerous. We all knew that, which is why the
sensible Ultimate players among us play outside mostly! We had 14 bumps
(mostly joint problems), cuts/grazes and a dislocation on Saturday and a
further 8 people needed mopping up on Sunday. The head first aider at the
venue recommended that more players wore padding or play outdoors!

Venue. I like the Luton venue as the pitches are big and the facilities are
pretty good. Next year I'll find a warmer, better lit hall with sprung (and
padded) floors more south east than Luton!

Schedule: noted slight downside of schedule format, which a few people
noticed, was there was a high likelihood of meeting someone from their pool in
the semi, but every team played at least nine different teams at the weekend so
I don't think anyone had any complaints. I have passed on the feedback to Si
East, our friendly IndoorDOC.

Thanks again y’all,

Whippet
