Here are the SOTG scores for Uni Nationals Div 1.
The teams are listed in order of their average total score. I've included the number of games the teams played (except the finalists - to whom I owe an apology as we failed to get their scores - so for Uriel and Halcyon the scores are produced from one less game). I've also listed the average score per category. This should help give teams a view on whether there is a specific area in which they are doing well, or not-so-well. Hopefully that makes sense. In case you can't remember (!) the categories are as follows, and the scores-by-category below are listed in the same order. Rules Knowledge and Use. For example: They did not make unjustified calls. They did not purposefully misinterpret the rules. They kept to time limits. They were willing to teach and/or learn the rules Fouls and Body Contact. For example: They avoided fouling, contact, and dangerous plays Fair-Mindedness. For example: They apologized for their own fouls. They informed teammates when they made wrong or unnecessary calls. They were willing to admit that we were right and retracted their call Positive attitude and self-control. For example: They introduced themselves. They communicated without derogatory or aggressive language. They complimented us on our good plays. They left an overall positive impression during and after the game, e.g. during the Spirit circle Their spirit compared to ours. How did their team compare to ours with regards to rules knowledge, body contact, fair-mindedness, positive attitude and self-control? Trinity (Dublin) (8 games) = 15.5. The WFDF SOTG Committee has just been finishing off some work in this, and produced a document to try to help make sure teams approach the scoring in a broadly consistent way. Anyway - back to the tournament.... Congratulations again to Uriel who played well all weekend but put together a particularly strong game in the final. And thanks in particular to Edd for all his help. See you at Uni Outdoor Nationals in Manchester in on 21-22 April where we will have both Open divisions, the Women's division and the all-new UKU Alumni Championships. More news to follow soon!
