Gooooood morning BD, ED & UU

Last weekend 51 teams travelled to Plymouth to bid for the title of Iron
Five and the competition was tougher then ever before. With 11 returning
seeded teams from the top 16 last year, 11 Wild Card teams who had talked
themselves into being thrown into the top seedings, the following all
comers had nothing to lose but to take it to them. In the end the spoils
went to Fast Catch, a former winner returning after a years absence,
winning over the highest rising unseeded team DED.

SOTG, sponsored by Lookfly, went to two teams, one from each venue on the
second day. Congratulations to DED and Secchi who both left with an Iron
Five SOTG Hip-flask, a box of Eclairs to share and a brand new pair of
Lookfly shorts each.

I would like to thank all the players who donated to Force the charity who
we supported this year. Force offers respite care and counselling to
sufferers and their families. We raised £125 through badges sponsored by
Lookfly and a guess the number of Jelly Babies in the bottle. A lot of
people used a "scientific method" stating a packing density for Jelly
Babies or counting the number seen in the bottom and multiplying by a
number for the heights. The bottle & Jelly Babies went to Lee Noble from
The Five Percenters with a guess of 126, the official figure was 127.

A special mention goes to the Wild Boys from Austria, possibly the furthest
travelled team to an Iron Five. Any one care to beet that next year?

I must also thank Sarah, Heather, Guy, Daksha and my Dad for doing a superb
job managing the tournament as well as time keeping and score collecting
and anything else that was asked of them at each venue.

Until next time,
