Dear BD (etc),

We're excited to announce trials for a new women's team based in Oxford and
Cambridge. Here's what you need to know:

*About trials:*
Open trials, *SATURDAY FEB 4th, Oxford*
The exact time and place TBD, but it most likely will be a full afternoon
session.

We're planning a high-intensity trial with emphasis on ultimate
fundamentals and game playing. Instead of a traditional top-down session
run purely to judge triallists' abilities, our trial will be a 2-way
learning opportunity that gives players a chance not only to pick up some
ultimate tips but also to experience the ethos of the leadership (i.e. how
we run practice, how we see frisbee) and to figure out whether we're a good
fit for you this season.

If you are on the fence about playing this season, about playing with us,
or if you're merely looking for a good skills workout, we encourage you to
come along and check out the team.

Please also let us know if you're in town for the Midlands UWIR on the
Sunday and coming to trials means you'd need a place to stay overnight.

About the team:*
We are starting a new team based on a commitment to beautiful frisbee,
awesome people, and realizing potential. We'll be practicing alternately in
Oxford and Cambridge, and are looking for women based nearby in the
Midlands (or for anyone who doesn't mind commuting to practice...). 2012
will be our rookie season, so there's no team history, but we'll be gearing
up for UK Tour under the leadership of Lily Huang, Lucy Barnes, and Magali
Kostov. Some of the most important stuff (team name! precise schedule) will
need input from the team, once selected, but if you have questions please
get in touch with us at [email protected]. You can also check
out our (rudimentary) blog/website at
http://cambridgeoxfordwomens.blogspot.com.

Our vision is to build a team based on realizing the individual and
collective potential of all the players involved, working together to play
to the very best of our ability. As a new team, we're not entirely sure
where that ability will get us, but we're super psyched about the journey.
Thus we are looking for women of all levels who want to make the same
commitment to improve themselves, and their teammates, and playing
competitive ultimate. If this sounds like you-- whether you're a rising
star, seasoned veteran, or anything in between-- come out and play!

See you on the field,
Lily, Lucy & Mags

ps. Uni captains, please pass this on to any women on your teams who may
not be on BD/UKUW but might be interested!
