Salutations Ultimateers,
This is just a brief missive to let you all know that bidding for team
places at British Thumber Time: The Diamond Edition will close at 5pm
NEXT WEDNESDAY (That’s the 7th for those of you with an astrological
bent).
We’ve had 24 bids so far for our 24 team tournament, so there will be
competition for every space, with only last years Trophy and Sprit
winners guaranteed a spot.
On Wednesday night the selection starts.
To ensure high British standards of impartiality are maintained we’ve
developed a particularly complex piece of equipment. It’s powered
mainly by a blend of port and moustache wax, and it will select this
year’s successful bids on our behalf.
We call it The Teamologicolator.
It uses algorithms designed by our team of Collis Browne tincture
addled scientists, but we’re quite confident it will lead us to the
best possible mix for the tournament. We had the chaps at Bletchley
take a look at the sums and they seemed impressed. Scared, but
impressed.
By Friday (9th) our patented picker will have given us a list of lucky
teams. We’ll then let you know whether you’ve been successful or have
found yourself (in good company) loitering in our waiting hall.
Teams who have already bid; if there’s anything else you want us to
feed into the teamologicolator on Wedsnesday night, I suggest you send
it over by return post.
