Qualification for Masters at XEUCF 2013 was intended to happen at UKU
Masters Nationals 2012. However, this tournament didn't take place due
to a shortage of entered teams. We don't intend to run the qualification
for the Masters division at UKU Nationals 2013, since we anticipate
players in this division will need significantly more notice to prepare
for XEUCF.
(If a team that qualifies in Open, Mixed or Women's is unable to take up
their spot, another UK team will certainly exist that will fill that
spot. It's not clear that this is the case for Masters, so we would like
to give this division the opportunity to commit further in advance.)
To our knowledge, there are only 2 teams with serious intent to attend
XEUCF 2013 in this division. If this is the case, both teams will
probably be able to go (if we only get one bid, it would go to the team
that actually tried to enter Nationals 2012).
HOWEVER - If there are more Masters teams out there with serious
ambitions to attend XEUCF 2013, please get in touch ASAP (certainly
before the end of 2012, even if only to say 'Can we have more time,
we're putting a team together').
If more than 2 teams are serious about and capable of attending XEUCF,
then we'll need to reassess. If you're planning to go, please let us
know urgently.
