Hello UU/BD. Therapist here from Brighton Ultimate. I promised a fair while ago that I would be in touch after Christmas to talk about BU for this season that is up and coming. I also, importantly, told you all to enjoy your Christmas and implied within that was to have some time off! So I hope you all did...
ANYWAY, the time has come to say that BU are recruiting. We will have an open trial on January 19th/20th and then an invite trial on February 2nd/3rd. These trials will be held at Preston Park, Brighton, with a warm-up beginning smartly at 1pm. I know that these dates clash with GB U23 (January date) and GB Juniors (February date) but if you’re going to either of them and are potentially slightly interested then still get in touch! From this whole squad, and based on attitude, performance and commitment over the year, the team will be picked for regionals, nationals (assuming we qualify) and XEUCF (if we qualify). We will train monthly on weekends. Most of these will be a Saturday afternoon & Sunday morning training, with places to stay on Saturday night if you’ve travelled far, and pub visits or house parties to keep you entertained on the Saturday night. Obviously commitment can be discussed if you’re interested but if that sounds like too much/not enough then tell us NOW. We would expect folks to make all of the trainings barring a really well worked excuse. So, get in touch if you’ve questions, and fill in the form to let us know that you’re interested in coming to trial on January 19th!
