Dear Britdisc,

You probably have read emails from Discs for All already, about collecting
discs to take them to where they were needed. In 2009, 15 of these
collected discs in the UK reached Joe Graves (GB player) who got in touch
with me as he was going to spend a bit of time there and was willing to
start something up there. This initiative still lives on and if you go to
Kigali now, you'll be able to train twice a week, on a pretty nice field,
with a mixed bunch of people between locals and expats. This bunch is even
organising their third Kigali hat tournament this year ! It's in less than
a month time, see http://kigali.hattournaments.com/ for more details.

Back in the day, when Joe was trying to get things organised, Fire of
London donated £50 to help a team of brand new Rwandan players to go to
their first tourney in Kampala (Uganda), the 7 Hills Classic, as you can
imagine, it hooked up quite a few of them for life !

Now, we are trying to get some Burundians players to go to their first
tourney as well. Ultimate in Burundi is pretty well organised, through
schools/universities, which means students with little money. For one
student to go to Rwanda and play at the tournament, we need around £30 so
we, DFA, is launching a small fundraising campaign. The idea would be to
get 10 players over from Burundi to Rwanda, and we think that if everyone
chips in, even a small amount, it can be done!

*If you, your club, etc. Want to take part and give some money to help
making this possible, please drop me a line with your first name + surname,
club and amount so that I may quickly give the guys in Burundi a heads up
on how much money is being raised, so that they can start organising
themselves. The tourney is on Feb. 16th and 17th so not that far away !*

*Many thanks in advance - for these players, on top of being their first
tourney, it will probably be their only one this year.*

DFA is a registered not for profit association in France, to which you can
transfer money (bank details (IBAN) at the bottom of this form :
http://www.slideshare.net/DisquespourTous/bulletin-dadhsion-disques-pour-tous[don't
worry about the French]). Alternatively, and to avoid banking costs,
once you've emailed me, I can give you my UK bank account details and you
can send the money directly to me, all of this being based on trust of
course.

I am currently in Kigali for work and will play at the tournament. I will
probably host a few Burundians as well. They will borrow money to pay for
their bus ticket and I'll hand them the money personally once they are in
Kigali. So whichever way you choose for the transfer, rest assured that
what you give will go straight to the players, no faff.

Please pass on to your players !

Cheers,
Rodrigue, Discs for All.
