Hi All
The Sobell Centre (a sports centre in Finsbury Park)
– runs something called Saturday Night Project once a month where
young people from the area are invited to use the Sports Centre and do
various sports and activities.
They get a large turnout of up to 400
(its a big place with 4 x 5-a-side courts). They feature all the usual
sports and the Project management are keen to include ultimate because
they think it would be popular.
They are also keen to support more
ultimate being played at the centre on a regular basis – i.e. create
a base that local clubs could use. They will be building outdoor rubber
crumb pitch in the next year or so.
I am looking for volunteers to
run a session there on Sat 30th March from about 5-8pm. It would involve
playing a 5 a side demo game, teaching throwing and catching to any young
people who wanted to give it a try, and facilitating a game if enough of
them want to play.

It should be a lot of fun and a
chance to get young people playing the sport who are not university
students.
If you are interested in helping out or finding out more
then please drop me a line asap
