This is the first of four awesome announcements you can expect from us
this week.
Over the coming days we’ll be telling you about the things we have
planned for 2013 and beyond. But today is my favourite (just), because
it’s the day we announce that we exist...
Hi, we’re Soar.
I’ll start by explaining where we’ve come from. We came together
through of our shared love of ultimate, and in particular the positive
impact great ultimate experiences can have on people's lives. We
started off by running British Thumber Time, one of the most patriotic
and ridiculous social tournaments in the UK from the last few years.
After a couple of years of running great events and dabbling in
investing in local ultimate projects, we realised that we all wanted
to do more. But we knew that there is only so much difference we can
make on our own, and that's not enough for us.
We are not going to compromise by thinking small. So we created Soar.

I’ll sum it up now for you...
Basically, Soar exists to help the ultimate community in the UK
realise it could be even more awesome than it already is.
And here’s the best bit: you can be part of it.
Although we like to think big, we know big thoughts can be built out
of small actions. Rather than hoarding our ideas and resources, we
want to open them up to everyone in the UK. We want to build a network
of players who can each add a little so the UK ultimate scene grows a
lot.
So when we say we want to find 10,000 more players in the UK, or make
sure every student team has access to high level coaching, or expand
the amount of quality mixed ultimate all year around, what we’re
really doing is showing you the real impact just a little of your time
could help make happen.
It might be running events, coaching new players, writing articles, or
just sharing your love of this bloomin’ marvellous sport with everyone
you can. If you have time, enthusiasm, or knowledge to share, then
we'll find a way to channel that into growing our community.
Through all this we’ll be helping you. We’ll connect you to the
people, kit, and brain power you need to make your ultimate plans a
reality.
So that’s it really.
We’re Soar and we’re here to take ultimate higher, if necessary by
lighting a firework under it.
