Hello Britdisc,

Ahead of this weekends Nationals i want to introduce you to a tool i've
been working on - the Ultimate Tournament Center, or UTC. This is an online
application for both players and tournament directors that has been
evolving since EUC2007.

The idea is simple, why re-invent everything for each tournament? Why not
have a tool online that anyone can use, that develops and changes, and that
allows for things to be re-used? Nothing complicated to install, and
nothing lost before the next tournament.

But this isn't just for TDs. UTC has been designed with players in mind and
a special app has been written so that you have all the information you
need, up to date and in the palm of your hand. One app, for any tournament
that uses UTC.

A grand idea perhaps, but one that we are now one step closer to with UTC.
There is still development that needs to be done but at a very basic level
TD's can already use the tools to easily make schedules, registrations,
results, spirit and rosters available online. Further down the line i hope
that this will provide an online resource for past schedules as well as an
ever improving process for registration, payment, schedules and spirit, not
to mention including things like push notifications for the mobile app.

The tool has been used twice already this year, most recently at the
South-East Regionals and will be given a full run out at this weekends
Nationals. If you want to follow whats happening you can either :

- View the updates and schedules via your mobile.
- View all the same updates via http://ukunationals.org/ ( any UTC content
can be embedded into your own site )
- View the live updates online via
http://www.ultimatetournamentcenter.com/UKU-Nationals/2013-08-24

Currently the mobile application is stuck in the App Store review process
but in the mean time you can use the app by going to
http://www.ultimatetournamentcenter.com/mobile/www/ on your mobile.

I hope you'll find this useful. Please contact me if you'd like any more
information, or if you are having any difficulties getting any of the
applications to work.

Thanks, Andy Feltham
