Hi Britdisc, The volunteers at nationals recorded the goals and assists of all the players, which allowed a crude fantasy ultimate to be set up on a google doc.
The winning team in the open division was Will Martin (Kapow) who picked 3 of the top 8 final highest scorers. The highest scorers in the open division were: Shaun Webb29 Tom Fox28 Joe Wynder27 Marius Hutcheson24 Luke England24 Ham Roushanzamir23 Brian Hudson21 Adam Irving21 The winning team in the womens division was James Burbidge (Burro) who picked 4 of the top 7 final highest scorers. The highest scorers in the womens division were: Jackie Veralls18 Kate Markey18 Ellie Hand16 Sophie Edmonson16 Hannah Boddy15 Ange Wilkinson14 Jenna Thomson14 The winning team in the mixed division was Edd Carmicheal (JR) who picked the two highest guy scorers. The highest male scorers in the mixed division were: Dave Tyler28 George Hudson19 James Freeman18 Jo Thompson17 Graeme McDowell17 Steve Smith17 The highest female scorers in the mixed division were: Rebecca Easey14 Nicola Harrison13? Magali Matsumiya11 Elise Bardsley9 Susan Bidgood9 Amber Perett9 The winning team in the masters division was again James Burbidge (Burro). What a guy. He scored 41 out of a maximum 55 points. The highest scoring players in the masters division were: Merrick Cardew11 Sion Thaysen9 Luke Gomm9 Dave Bixler7 Paul Atkins7 Mango6 Si Weeks6 Lee Noble6 Good things about doing fantasy ultimate this way is that the google doc only took 10 minutes to create and the stats were automatically collected by the volunteers. Bad things about doing fantasy ultimate this way is that the google doc was rushed together in 10 minutes and the shallow stats weren't always collected accurately. Big thanks to volunteers all the same - it makes a big difference to the overall quality of the tournament. Maybe at Nationals 2014 someone with more tech skillz will make a more robust, in-depth fantasy ultimate that can get the same level of interest from all you frizbee eventeers.
