I will have to leave this group, effective immediately. To be as short and to the point as possible, this past year has been unbelievably painful for me. It started with the final stages of my father's heart disease, and his death in February. My oldest daughter and her boyfriend had come to my father and my home to help out with his final months, which turned out to end much faster than even his doctor anticipated. I am physically disabled, and my income is Federal and State SSI payments; my main duties in life for the last seven years had been as a caretaker for my dying father. As the apartment we had shared immediately became far too expensive for me to maintain, and my daughter needed to establish a stable home as part of her probation, I proposed that the three of us move back to La Crosse (where they had come from) and the three of us share equally in the rent and expenses in order to get her back on her feet. They agreed, and in April we moved. However, she had kept from me the fact that her boyfriend has a drinking problem, and he immediately began spending all of their rent and bill money on beer. Within a couple of months, he physically attacked me and threatened my life, and she went along with it. They never paid their expenses, and I finally managed to get them out of the apartment in August. However, that left me with rent and bills each month that far exceed my SSI income.
Tonight, I was informed by my new landlord (who bought the building last month) that I will be evicted for not being able to pay my full rent in December. I have no possible way of collecting the money he is demanding. Consequently, I will have no access to the Internet, as I will be homeless. I am shutting down the two lists that I own outright, and unsubbing from those I don't.
