NO KINKS REUNION ACCORDING TO FOUNDING MEMBER

Dave Davies, who along with older brother Ray, were
founding members of The Kinks over 40 years ago has
announced that in spite of recent rumors of a Kinks
reunion, with other original members Pete Q and Mick
A. there are no plans for the band to re-unite now or
in the foreseeable future. The last tour Ray and Dave
played together as the Kinks was in 1996. Since then
Ray and Dave have been involved in their respective
solo touring and recording projects. There have been
health issues as well as the band's well-documented
volatile relationship which all make a reunion in the
near future unlikely.

Dave, who suffered a stroke three and a half years
ago, has recovered from his illness and has recorded
his first solo album in 5 years, Fractured Mindz which
was released on Koch this year. "Having a stroke was a
life-changing experience," Davies admits, "and this
album is what came out of it. I'm very proud of it and
excited about it." Dave hopes to tour next year to
promote his own album. In addition, Dave is working on
a DVD film series tracing his life and spiritual
journey, Mystical Journey. Part I is scheduled to be
released sometime in 2008.

The Kinks were one of the pioneers of the original
British invasion in the early 1960's, and remained
together through several personnel changes and a
one-time ban from touring in the U.S. until well into
the 1990's. Dave's legendary guitar sound on their
first hit, â"You Really Got Me" is often credited with
creating a sound that later became known as heavy
metal. While brother Ray was the lead singer and
primary songwriter for the band, true Kinks fans know
that without Dave's musical stylings and extensive
creative input, the band's career would't have reached
the heights that it did. Throughout the band's career,
Dave has released his own singles and albums, always
successfully stepping out to the delight of Kinks fans
all over the world. In 2001, The Kinks received rock's
greatest honor when they were inducted into the Rock &
Roll Hall of Fame.

"To be honest, Ray and I haven't even spoken in over 6
months," admits Dave, " not only hasn't a tour been
planned, it hasn't even been discussed. I am focused
on my solo career right now and thatâ's all I'm
concerned with at the moment."
