Absolutely, there was quite a bit accomplished (the sources are available in the "brlcad" and "rt^3" module in our SVN repository)! For the GUI specifically, Manuel continued to work on it so far as his studies and personal family matters allowed. The progress he was able to make is part of the reason why we are still interested in having someone work on that task again this year. It was never expected that the project woluThere is also a separate MGED+Archer refactoring effort going on for the interim while the new GUI is worked on (given it's expected to take multiple years to bring to a production-quality state).
The lack of a follow-up is more just me being overwhelmed with other tasks to write up a detailed report for the summer's activities. It's been started, just not finished yet.
