Tom,
Have you considered writing a patch? It ought to be possible to issue a
patch, along with your code, that would add a default value for *resp. Of
course this may be more trouble than its worth, but I thought I'd throw it
out.
Still, wouldn't it make more sense for one of you to change his version to
match that which the other is using?
