I have tried
export EDITOR=vi
vim
pico
All the same.
vim works fine with an attached device (X, tcl).
I have tried EDITOR="vim --nofork" but that doesn't help.
Am I losing my mind--couldn't I do "red" with the nulll device in the past?
Thanks.
