For the basics, I'd suggest the CMake wiki as a starting point:

The best resource I've found for advanced stuff has actually been the CMake
email lists - all sorts of nuggest of wisdom there from people who have
done it in the trenches.  The archives are very useful (I've added links to
specific emails in the comments in numerous places in the CMake logic) and
if you run into something nobody has hit before the list is usually fairly
responsive (especially if it's an item of general interest.)
