Greetings Abhishek! Open source is a fantastic way to become involved and learn about software development in general, but also just a very productive hobby. I hear over and over from students that continued to work on open source after GSoC ended, how a company hired them because of their passion for coding and commitment to an open source community. :) > I am interested in the code reduction and the general tree walker project. If they sound like they're interesting projects to you, then they're certainly viable projects. The tree walker is certainly "harder" than code reduction, but I have no basis to evaluate whether your "relatively new" software development experience is sufficient. I suggest familiarizing yourself with the source code references and see if you can understand the code. > Also can these two be clubbed together? I have some experience with c and c++. You could, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'd recommend submitting them as two separate proposals where you list one as your preferred primary. The primary should be a project that truly interests you the most. Cheers!
