Hi  Laijiren,

Welcome to GSOC! Looking forward to working with you.

Looking into the error in the BREP representation of the EHY primitive sounds like a good way to get into the internal BREP structures. If it looks like it's going to take too much time or is more complicated than you expect just let me know. It's definitely more important to get you working of tessellation of working BREP geometry.

Sounds like you are already familiar with the 'csgbrep' that produces a "csgbrep.g" containing BREP representations of most of our CSG primitives.  The '3dm-g' program is currently the most reliable way to get external BREP geometries into BRL-CAD(relates to the fact that we use their BREP container classes). There is also a simple 3dm geometry that we use for testing under the regression test suite and comes in the source repository at "$TRUNK_SOURCE/regress/nurbs/brep-3dm.tar.bz2".

Good luck.

Hi Keith Bowman!
My name is Laijiren. My proposal "Trimed NURBS Tessellation" has been accepted by GSoc.I'm glad to say hello to you here and I'm so happy that I can communicate with you when working on my project. Here is the link to my Wiki page and I'll log my progress and also something related with my project on the page.
I'v noticed for a long time that ray tracing the ehy.brep has some error in mged.I want to fix it as the warming up for the Summer. What's my first step? Can you give me some advice.
About my project,I'v spend several days to get familar with opennurbs and Brep. Now I'll try to use the step-g,3dm-g,and rt. Can you give me some advice about where to start my project.

Cheers!
Laijiren
