I am Inderpreet Singh a B.Tech CSE student. I am really interested in doing web development projects for BRL-CAD (as mentioned in Ideas List). I have a fair amount of knowledge in PHP (including framework code-ignitor) , HTML5, Javascript (including frameworks like ember.js, jquery etc.) and CSS3. Though I have found this community through GSoC but I would love to work even outside GSoC. My main purpose of applying for this web development project is I would love to see my work having some impact on a community as wide as BRL-CAD. Frankly speaking I have a very beginner level knowledge in CAD programs but I am good in web design and development.
I would love to apply for http://brlcad.org/wiki/Benchmark_Performance_Database or http://brlcad.org/wiki/Materials_Database they both have almost similar skill requirements. Here I can add that I have took a little taste of R Language and so have some experience in graphs and charts so I guess I will be best suited for http://brlcad.org/wiki/Benchmark_Performance_Database. Apart from that, I would love to improve the User Interface of the website. If I am not wrong it was part of Google Code-In tasks to make a mock up of BRL-CAD website so I guess community is interested in having a new UI for the website.
