Hello Tom,

Based on your brlcad split proposal:

libbrlcad         (main utilities with its run-time libraries and everything 
else needed to run them)
libbrlcad-utils   (less used utilities with its run-time libraries and 
everything else needed to run them)
libbrlcad-doc     (html and man pages)
libbrlcad-doc-pdf (pdf documentation)
libbrlcad-dev     (symlinks, source code files, static libraries and pkg-config 
files)
libbrlcad-dbg     (debugging symbols)

My five cents.
