My suggestion would be (in cases like this were current documents are based off of older ones) that the current version of the document note that it is based off of the original document (by title/number/whatever) without itemizing the old authors. If anyone wants to know, they can research the base document to see what it says about authorship, and going forward we can go with the BRL-CAD team + revision history/comments.
