While fooling with options to turn off the STEP build while debugging, I noticed that the aliases for BRLCAD_SCL don't work for me.
Looking around I never could find a BRLCAD_OPTION macro call which seems to magically make the aliases work. The THIRD_PARTY macro may be the problem but my head hurts trying to read too much CMake stuff today so I can't be sure.
