Exactly, that's the plan. In this mock up just to not to leave the
space there empty, I added the form. The plan is to add a full width
gallery with recent posts from the blog.

It will work in Opera, Konqueror, Midori too, actually they all have
same underlying rendering engine called webkit. So any browser with
webkit will support this feature. Firefox is not one of them.

Great, I also don't like the login form there.  ;) I just injected it
in on the last moment before sharing so that at least the design looks
complete. Will love to hear about those CRM Ideas. I am thinking a
full width blurred background horizontal slider of latest posts.

I am comfortable with Wordpress instead of Drupal,  there are
techniques to export data from Drupal to wordpress. So, I was thinking
of building a wordpress theme. For the wiki Mediawiki is fine. I was
thinking we can have a slightly different theme (will share the mock
up soon) for wiki. Wiki has a lot of extra UI components that need to
be thought of and fit into our overall theme.
