Granted, that's why I've been suggesting collecting useful C++
functions into some king of utility cpp library.

The tool does, but the various attr lookup functions (now sets and
maps in cpp, and planned to be unordered maps) I believe are used
often during processing of attrs during the often
long-runningmodelling process.
