Hi, Siddhartha, and welcome to the BRL-CAD group.

All good skills to be used here.

That's my particular interest at the moment, though the other areas
are also fair game. I'm sure Sean or Cliff will weigh in but, if you
haven't already, you should get the BRL-CAD source tree (trunk) and
get familiar with the code layout, configuring (particularly for
debugging), building, and running the test targets: "regress" and
"test".

Then try to tackle fixing one of the bugs, prepare a test for it, and
submit a patch for your changes.

Of course you will need to submit a detailed proposal for your chosen
project, but chasing down and submitting patches for one or more bugs
during the proposal prep period is a good exercise for you and it
gives the mentors a chance to see how you work in the BRL-CAD
environment.

In my opinion, you should do your BRL-CAD work on Linux or other
Unix-like environment, but others may disagree.

I'm looking forward to seeing your efforts.

Best regards,

-Tom

Subversion Kills Productivity. Get off Subversion & Make the Move to Perforce.
With Perforce, you get hassle-free workflows. Merge that actually works.
Faster operations. Version large binaries. Built-in WAN optimization and the
freedom to use Git, Perforce or both. Make the move to Perforce.
